The Difference

So, what makes us different from any other writers you find all over the face of the earth?
Well, I'll tell you.

We here at LDS Writing Blogck, and most of the authors, editors and publishers that we associate with, are, in fact, LDS. Which means we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We strive, as a whole, to live up to a level of virtue and goodness in all that we do. We believe that virtue should fill our lives, and fill the world.

The best way to explain it is to quote from the Church's Articles of Faith, which in turn quotes from the Holy Bible:

Article of Faith #13

"We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."   (emphasis added)

There is more than enough trash out there disguised as literature. The world needs more good options to turn to, more stories parents can feel safe giving to their children, more virtuous and praiseworthy forms of entertainment. We are here to help fill that void, by creating works in every genre that are clean but not preachy, wholesome but not parsimonious, uplifting even when not upbeat. Works of which, on the day we stand before the Lord, we will not be ashamed.
